We build Indigenous Innovation Districts
Indigenous Innovation Districts are a consortium of modern, environmentally-conscious businesses leasing land and power from an Indigenous partner.
Together, this network of autonomous enterprises generates employment, training and entrepreneurial opportunities while accelerating the clean energy transition in that region.
The benefits of an Indigenous Innovation District include:
⇒ High-paying jobs and training in tech, clean energy and clean manufacturing directly benefiting local youth and families.
⇒ Significant revenues to Indigenous partners that don’t conflict with traditional cultural values, creating ethical own-source revenue to expand social programming.
⇒ Expansion of clean energy production and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions benefiting the environment and health and safety of future generations.
⇒ Energy and food security for the broader region in the face of catastrophic flooding, heat waves and winter storms causing unprecedented damage to infrastructure.
⇒ Indigenous sovereign data opportunities to further advance self-determination and language and culture preservation.
⇒ Practical implementation of reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.
How it works
Indigenous Innovation Districts are made possible by our Clean Energy-Data Processing Model (CEDP), the linking together of a clean energy source with a data centre on Indigenous lands.
Data centres have industrial scale battery banks that require immense amounts of power. Meanwhile, the termination of BC Hydro’s Standing Offer Program left many Indigenous communities with stranded clean energy assets.
In our model, the data centre purchases power from the Indigenous community at a competitive rate and generates revenue through data storage and processing contracts with the consortium of businesses.
How to get involved
We spent over three years carefully recruiting key leaders in the clean energy, technology, green manufacturing, development, construction, and financial sectors to make Indigenous Innovation Districts a reality.
